Oh no fellow beauty kids, this picture is a little worse for wear. You can tell I've used all these products multiple times and I've hit pan on 2 of them. On a positive note, you can really tell these are my favourites as they are well used, well loved and the packaging is a little lacklustre.
So, let's pretend the packaging is perfect in true beauty blogger style and let's talk bronzers. I love bronzers and contouring powders because I suffer from what I like to endearingly call a 'moon face'. While I love my rounded face, because it keeps me looking younger and is quite pinch-able, it's frustrating when you want those beautifully contoured lines and a cheek bones to rival Benedict Cumberbatch (any Sherlock fans out there?) . Let's be honest, bronzers help a sister out.
So here are my top favourites, some are limited edition...don't hate me - I've given the best alternatives. I know how it feels when people post limited edition products and you start lusting over them.
Stila Sun Bronzing Power Shade 01 US$28/AUD$55- This bronzing powder is perfect to utilise all over the cheek, most like a blush. I wouldn't recommend it as an all over bronzer as it's slightly on the orange side, but it's perfect to give that sun kissed glow on the cheeks over the summer. I wish I would have bought Shade 02, a lot of reviews highlight that Shade 02 is more brown, which would have been perfect for contouring.
Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Warmed US$32/AUD$47 - I bought this many moons ago, when Tanya Burr mentioned it in a tutorial. The tutorial was a Victoria Secret look and I'm a sucker for those angels and their glowing cheeks. I searched high and low for this product as it was a limited edition and finally got it in a swap. I love this product and never regret the hours that went into searching for it, so I feel bad for teasing you guys! The good news is Mac comes out with very similar colours during skin finish releases all the time including 'Comfort' and 'Stereo Rose' (another cult favourite).
Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (Bronze Universel) US$48/AUD$67- This is another cult beauty product. Not only is the packing beautiful but I love the fact it's a cream. It's extremely blendable and perfect for an all over face contour. I love using this to bring a bit of a life into my face after using mattifying products, it assists with getting rid of the dreaded cake face. The honest truth is the swatch doesn't do it justice at all, which is frustrating because it's just stunning. It's great for most skin tones because you can build it up or blend it out because it is a cream. If you don't want to break the bank, a good drug store alternative is Bourjois Bronzing Primer /AUD$19
Mac Accentuate Sculpt and Shade Powder - This range was all the rage when they first were released. I remember the Mac forum on Live Journal (does this show my age), went wild when this range was released and to be honest it was worth the hype. The powders were designed for specific skin tones, and the perfect contour and highlight was created to compliment light, medium and dark tones. Accentuate is still my go too for extreme contouring. When a want a really defined cheek bones I partner this powder on top of Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel. While you can't buy these anymore, Mac Pro still creates 'Sculpting Powders', which are pretty much identical.
Let me know what are some of your favourite bronzers!
