I got these two lovelies as part of my Sephora birthday haul (woohoo, who doesn't love a little beauty haul?). I bought them because they were much hyped within the beauty community and I've loved a lot of Too Faced lipstick products in the past. There is nothing I adore more than an opaque lipstick/gloss, which sits comfortably on the lips.
I purchased the two pink ones out of the collection - Melted Peony (I die for this name, I love peony flowers) and Melted Fuchsia. I'm very partial to pink lipstick because of my medium skin tone, and I would say 80% of my lipstick collection is in a pink tone.
The Melted lipsticks claim to be comfortable to wear on the lips, creamy and last for hours. I must say that they do feel wonderful on the lips, are extremely creamy and last long on the lips. Obviously the normal wear occurs when eating but they do stain the lips, so the colour does overall last longer the lips. The applicator is a sponge tip, which I know grosses some people out but from my end it works well in distributing the colour on the lips. My only issue with the sponge tip is you have to be carful how much you squeeze out, because any excess seems to build up in the lid.
The only disappointment or let down I have with this product is that both colours seem to have a different consistency and sit differently on the lips. Despite both having the identical ingredients the Melted Fuchsia appeared less opaque and more watery as you can see in the swatch above, I found that this colour seems to sit more into the lines of the lips as the day progressed. The Peony which is the lovely dusty rose colour is exactly what I expected from these products, it's creamy like a make cream sheen and delightfully opaque with no evidence of sheerness. I don't know if I got a dodgy Melted Fuchsia, but I was a little bit of a sad panda when I realised both weren't the same in consistency.
Overall, I'd say purchase the Melted Peony, it's fantastic and if you like more of a gloss consistency lover you will also enjoy the Melted Fuchsia.
