This morning's announcement that Urban Decay was arriving to Australian shores felt like a dream for many beauty lovers. We've been waiting with baited breath for this announcement, and I'm so excited that our beloved Mecca Maxima stores will be exclusively stocking Urban Decay from Friday 27th March.
I can't contain my excitement. There has finally come a day, where I don't have to stalk international beauty sites and hurdle through multiple shipping options to get my hands on the latest Naked palette release or primer potions.  My love for Urban Decay started early-on while lurking through forums on LiveJournal (yes ladies and gents, I'm from the LJ generation) and having my forum sisters stock me up with primer potions during swaps.

For those of you interested in the release, be sure to sign up to the Mecca Maxima website for exclusive details.

If I had a dollar for every time a youtuber mentioned Gerard Cosmetics or gave all of their viewers a discount code in the down bar, I'd be a millionaire! After countless videos and reviews, I caved and purchased all the lipsticks and a few of their lip glosses.

I was excited to receive the lipsticks, because I had heard so many good things and at a $19 price point ( I got them for 30% off using a handy dandy discount code), I knew I couldn't go wrong.  For, those in the US, I'm sure $19 is expensive for cosmetics and the price you traditionally pay for some higher end products, but the reality is in Australia Revlon Lipsticks retail for $24 a pop.

I must admit my first impressions of these lipsticks were a little lacklustre. For those of you who have been reading my blog for a while you'd know I'm a sucker for packaging. Unfortunately, the Gerard Cosmetics packaging is very drug store in quality.  While the gold is beautiful and eye catching, the lids on the lipsticks come off easily and the base which the lipsticks click into always comes out.

I know packaging isn't important to a lot of people, and let's be real, the quality of the product is what makes you want to spend your dollars.  So let's get to chatting. First, and foremost I have to say their formula for their darker and more pigmented colours are great. Fire Engine, All Dolled Up, Cherry Cordial and 1995 are beautiful. They go on smoothly, and feel comfortable on the lips. Their lighter colours, are a little bit of a miss.  Nude, Buttercup and Tequila Sunrise weren't what I expected, they felt a little chalky and I had to rub the product so hard on my lips to get the proper colour pay off, which made me a sad panda,,Tequila Sunrise looks beautiful in the tube and lovely when swatched on the hand, but it doesn't come off as great on the lips.

My recommendations would be 1995 and Cherry Cordial, because they are lovely and very different colours from what I have seen from any other brand. However, for the more traditional colours, I strongly believe the drug store has some lovely alternatives, which will set you back less than $19.  However, if you are buying anything from Gerard Cosmetics, I strongly recommend their lip glosses, they are highly pigmented and feel delightful on the lips.

I know what you're thinking, enough of the Charlotte Tilbury, Dee! Well, I can't help it - every single one of the products I use from her collection ends up being a dream and I have an unhealthy desire to rave about it. So settle back in your seat, grab a cup of tea, coffee or gin and tonic (whatever your vice) and let's have a little bit of a chat about these lovely lip lustres.

Firstly, I have to admit that a lot of my love for Charlotte Tilbury has to do with the packaging. Rose gold is my absolute weakness. I will take rose gold in any form I can get. This is completely ironic because when I use see my mother wear rose gold many moons ago I use to cringe because I thought it was horrid. At least my mum now gets the last laugh, bshe loved it before  it was 'cool'.

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and High Society.

I should really move on from story time and tell you about these delights. The colours I picked up were 'Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds' and 'High Society'. Both are just drool worthy. The formula of these lip glosses are just comfortable. There is nothing worse than layering a lipgloss over a lipstick, only for it to be severely uncomfortable and you end up licking the lipgloss off! These are a breeze.

On top of being super comfortable, they are pigmented perfectly. They are just the right amount of opaque. L.S.D is a beautiful pink champagne colour with silver reflects, which ngives the illusion of plumper lips and High Society is the kind of everyday mauve that I wear ontop of my favourite lipsticks including M.A.C Cosmo.

Dee and Charlotte Tilbury sitting in a tree, K.I.S.S.I.N.G, first comes the blush, then comes lipstick and then comes not a lot of money that I'm stuck with!

Did you all like that little rhyme? I'm quite proud of my primary school poetry skills, but you can't blame me with a name like K.I.S.S.I.N.G lipsticks I had to start of this blog with a bang.

Oh Charlotte Tilbury, Queen of Make Up - why oh why do you make such amazing products that I end up lusting over and purchasing even though my wallet screams at me to stop? These lipsticks are out of this world. I've been trying them out at work all week and all I keep recieving is beautiful completments.

The three colours I picked up (left to right) are Coachella Coral (a beautiful Coral), Bitch Perfect (Pinky Nude) and Velvet Underground (Purple Undertoned Pink/Magenta).

They are completely fabulous, lets just stare at the beautiful rose gold packaging.  In addition to the glam packaging, their formula reminds me a lot of Mac Creamsheen, which is my absolute favourite. It's creamy and pigmented, but doesn't dry your lips, which is what I always look for in a lipstick.

All I can say is, you need this in your life buy buy buy!

I'm really not one of those people who thinks of the new year as a new start. You'll never hear me saying - new year, new me! However, I thought it would be fun to make some new year beauty resolutions. There are some complete no-nos that I'm guilty of and the new year is the time for me to get my beauty routine and habits into tip top shape.

Remove Make Up - While most days I remove my make up completely, there are a lot of times (nights) that I am exhausted and end up sleeping in my make up.  We all know it's a big no no because it's terrible for your skin and secondly it's horrendous on your sheets. No one likes a mascara stained pillow case.

Skin Care Regimen - Similar to removing my make up, I get really lazy with my skin care regimen. Some days I do the full sh-bang and then there are other days where I cleanse and then completely forget to moisturise. I have beautiful products laying in my cabinet and I need to put them to work. P.S Sodashi skin care is amazing!

Use Up Make Up -  I know most of you relate with me on this. Being an avid beauty lover I buy so much make up, and it's enough to do the make up of a whole film crew. I've put myself on a block from buying any new make up this month. I want to explore my cupboards full of make up and fall in love with products I've forgotten.

Drink More Water- With anything beauty related, taking care of your insides is what counts the most. With my busy work schedule and running around like a crazy, sometimes I forget to drink water or eat well. So, I'm making a conscious effort to have those 8 glasses a day and stay hydrated.

What are some of your New Year Resolutions?

I don't know if you've noticed, but my love for Charlotte Tilbury products lately has been out of control. I can't get past how beautiful and perfectly formulated all her products are. I spoilt myself a little bit and]decided to purchase the 'Fallen Angel' Luxury Palette, seeing how much I already adore the Dolce Vita Palette.

The shadows are completely and utterly stunning. As always Charlotte Tilbury knows how to package products to make any beauty lover drool. Each eyeshadow is embossed with  little stars and I've been so careful with my brush trying to not damage the pattern, even though I know soon enough I will have to say good bye to these shining stars.

The first colour is a lovely champagne highlighter, which reminds me of MAC's Rice Paper, the second is a perfect taupe which looks fantastic all over the lid on those no fuss days,  the third  is my most used, it's a beautiful rusty brown that's a dream and the final is a perfect matte black. The formula of these eyesahdows is out of this world, they are so buttery and blendable without compromising the pigmentation.

All I can say is this won't be my last post about Charlotte Tilbury and her amazing range and I'd 100% recommend you put this palette on your beauty wish list.
