NUXE REVE DE MIEL LIP BALM - WORTH THE HYPE?

Nuxe Reve De Miel, Lip BALM
Nuxe has finally made it's way to Australia, and thankfully is easily accessible at Priceline.  I picked up this much talked about balm, and decided to give it a go.  The truth is, I'm not a fan of lip balm in general. I don't like the slippery feeling and my lips are never excessively dry that they need constant conditioning.

The packaging is lovely, and I wouldn't expect any less form a French brand (they know their packaging). The balm is housed in a beautifully frosted jar with a coral lid, and every time you turn the lid it  makes a 'pop' sound. Strange thing to mention, I know, but it's oddly satisfying.

The product itself smells amazing, it's smells like a honey pot but there is a slight citrus undertone. The ingredients list is on point and you can understand why people love this product:

Honey - An ingredient which is added to balms or beauty products for its repairing properties.
Almond Oil and Shea Butter -  To sooth.
Plant Oils  - To nourish and smooth out the lips.

The balm itself is very thick in consistency, which at first put me off because I thought it would feel like petroleum jelly on the lips.  The moment you rub it onto your lips, it completely changes. It's soaked straight up into the lips and blends beautifully. After a few moments it dries matte, it's strange because you can still feel the moisture on the lips but in the mirror you don't see any shine!

My lips look visiably smoother, and when applying lipstick directly on top, it went on with no fuss. Overall, if you have dry lips or your lips need a little TLC, I would definately give it a go. It is one of the best balms I've tried.

  1. Looks so cute! I've been hearing amazing things about this balm. I love that their isn't any shine, because lip balm shine isn't attractive as lip gloss shine.

    1. Too true! Lip balm shine just looks like grease on the lips no dimension.

  2. I do love this as well! I love how matte but moisturising it feels, a little addictive. I just hate that I always manage to dig my nails in the little pot! x

  3. This sounds lovely! I've held off on trying it but I love that it can be worn under lipstick. Maybe it's what I need to cure my dry winter lips xx

  4. AHH I've been eyeing this off ever since Nuxe came to Australia; I unluckily suffer from chronically dry lips which is such a pain when you love matte lipstick. I'm intrigued by the matte finish on this balm; it seems like the perfect moisturiser under lipstick.

  5. It's been hard for me to get on with this lip balm. The texture is weird and sits on the lips, so I had to get the hang of it and apply a very small amount while working it a lot into the lips. It's a nice overnight balm though, and a good one to layer under lipstick (a very small amount) because of its matte finish.
